GCS has 2 sites in the Dominican Republic. The IT infrastructure consists of 8 physical servers with 200 virtual machines. Virtual machines store databases, various applications, files, and websites. VM backup and recovery are extremely important since the company serves thousands of customers and operates hundreds of thousands of transactions per day. The company’s history consolidates over 675 million processed transactions through an electronic payment platform in real-time. GCS International needs to stay online 24/7/365, as well as comply with government regulations and PCI standards.
GCS recently migrated their environment to Nutanix AHV, and their previous VM backup solution was incompatible with Nutanix. The company had to look for an alternative backup tool. The new backup solution had to deliver comprehensive protection for Nutanix AHV infrastructure as well as support VMware vSphere.
Solution
