Business Challenge

Cyllene Group is an IT service management company from France that was founded in 1986. Cyllene Group operates out of ten sites and has three datacenters and 1,500 physical servers. The company manages a variety of data for their customers, including infrastructure services, business databases, middleware data, e-commerce data sites, health sensitive data, and other types of information. Due to strict service-level agreements (SLAs) with customers, backup and recovery services are critical for the Cyllene Group. The company sees the importance of backup services for protection against environmental disasters, ransomware, and security breaches. The loss of critical data could be disastrous for the company and could put all business activity in jeopardy.

Previously, Cyllene Group relied on another backup solution, but the software did not succeed efficiently for the company. The main problem was that the solution was not agentless and required agents to be installed on virtual machines (VMs), plus recovery functionality was not efficient. Additionally, the management console was not user-friendly and agent deployment required time and considerable effort from the IT team. Basically, we managed to reduce the integration time and we can focus on our SLAs,” says Jérôme.

Cyllene Group takes advantage of recovery functionalities offered by NAKIVO Backup & Replication, VM replication, and backup to tape. “VM replication helps us move VMs between multiple sites and meet our recovery objectives. There is also no need for expansive infrastructure like SAN replication, for example. In terms of recovery, we enjoy instant granular recovery. Lastly, backup to tape supports us in achieving our SLAs by exporting data to long-term archiving media. The efficiency of backup to tape allows us to keep our commitments to our customers,” says Jérôme.
